Cacti, sand, jumbled rock. Now that’s cowboy terrain.
Right. Best leave it to the cowpunchers. It’s not suitable for SeaReys.
Spotty vegetation makes the ground look fuzzy.
It’s just a bit denser vegetation marking the drain lines.
The way downhill is lined with tiny shrubberies!
Well, you’ve heard of the Knights who say Ni right? Maybe there were conquistadors who said it too.
What?
It.
As in “It’s a good shrubbery.”
Ouch.
When it is hot and high and windy and the SeaRey doesn’t want to climb without a hot complaint, any gap is a good way through.

If you ever wonder why the river is dry, just check outside the banks. It’s a dry wash because the water goes everywhere. Everywhere but downstream.

There’s a constant reminder it is Richard’s airplane. It’s part of the “heads up display”.
Navigation is easy when you’re just following a feather.
One hundred degrees in the shade? There is no shade around. These rocks were born hot and they still are.

No need to listen to the airport advisory about wind. It’s easy to see in the dusty air and on the streaking water.
So, straight to the airport with no splashing?
Ha! Dust and wind are insufficient resistance to a cool splash in the river.
After the river it was a straight to airport and a mid afternoon stop for the night. After 7.1 rough air hours, it felt like a good time for a break. There was a courtesy car available for a trip into town and the Mexican restaurant. Here’s an important après flight lesson: after a long day of flying, be careful where you leave your credit card!
