    Dan, these are all great photos--but this last one, "Eventually you have to go home...," seems unique. I don't recall ever seeing that spray pattern before, with the spray angling about 45 degrees forward and the wake closing in the center so clearly and strongly. Is that during a takeoff? Maybe there are hundreds of such shots, and I've just never noticed the pattern before.

Compared to the top photo, in which the spray is blurred from motion, this one is really startling. Did you use a much faster shutter speed on this one? (It couldn't have been VERY fast because it didn't "stop" the prop.)

    I think the explanation, Don, is that the lower photo is crossing the wave pattern at an
angle with the spray lines corresponding to wave tops. Both were shot at the same
shutter speed.
