Description: It's been many years since I've landed on a frozen lake. Most years we never have conditions like this. So even though my cockpit is not heated, I bundled up and pulled it out of the frozen hangar, and landed on my lake. My camp is behind it. It was about 33 deg F, and about a half hour of flying was enough for me before I started getting cold.

Ice fishing is popular sport up here. The fish traps are spread out like landmines, and are hard to see from the air. I had to be careful not to hit one. In case you're wondering how thick the ice is, there were several full size pickups on a neighboring lake.

Very cool pix, Mark! (No joke, either.) Do you live there year round?
