Description: It was my birthday, so of course I wanted to get as high as I could. This is how I got there and back--in my Searey.

That's the James River two nautical miles down, on whose banks Captain John Smith met Pocahontas and General Grant had the busiest seaport in the world for the first half of 1865.

The city of Richmond is lost in the haze, just below the horizon and somewhere near the right margin.
