Searey vs. Gator

Description: If you don't have one, you need one! I've researched a bunch in this area and this is the best. It gets your bird out of the water, has options (Shown are 2 extra sides - for width - a bench and a tie-down) It has rollers to aid in getting it on and off. Works great and I paid around $1700 for what you see.

It does look good, Mike. You might consider posting your review on STS, the Searey Technical Site. That's where most Searey owners and builders look for Searey-specific info. (If you're not already a member, just click on the word "Help" in the upper right corner of this page and type in your name, email address, and Searey kit (serial) number. Maybe mention that you'd like to join STS. Someone will send you login instructions.)

Are you any relation to Glenn Hockett? He was an early Searey flyer.

Beautiful setting and setup, Mike. I have a very old version (1998) of the EZ Dock that was built for jet skis. Even though there are rollers, it is difficult to get the airplane back into the water. Looks like it's time for an up-grade!

Mike.....a few questions.....Do you power up the ramp?? If so, how do you keep the plane on the ramp while you get out?
When you depart I assume you push plane off the ramp and then board?? Is there a way to tie the wings down to the
ramp? And do you have a item # or some other way that I can identify it when I look it up on the EZ website.

It's always curious when a member never returns after posting something. In this case, Mr. Hockett
posted a few posts when his membership was created, with no other activity
afterwards.

Mike Hockett flew his yellow Searey to our October 2nd splash-in. But he seems to be busy with lots of other things, and he also has another airplane. Anyway, he probably doesn't check in here regularly. So you might try the email address in his member page on STS.      Attachments:

Thank you Don, that was wonderful and I wish we could have been there.
Also, very interesting trouble shooting...

I went to the website and they have a lot of different products.
https://www.ez-dock.com/
I also recall seeing a photo of a SeaRey in upstate New York that was on a modified regular boat lift. It seemed like a good
concept.

My personal opinion: i have an EZDock and love it. But not for my searey.
I originally got the ezdock from a guy with a searey who modified the dock to accept the searey. The dock sank. He filled it
with foam. It sank slower. He filled it with milk bottles. It sank. He brought it to me and destroyed his pickup doing so. I
filled it with closed cell foam. It took several years to sink and I replaced it with a new ezdock.

Even if an ezdock were to fit perfectly, which mine certainly did not, it would only be suitable for day parking. I would never
leave a searey on one in any weather.
