Description: Off topic, but I had to post this...

I took this pic this morning, June 21, first day of summer. This will give folks an idea how much snow we got this winter in Maine. This is the remains of a huge snow pile, that I thought might last until summer, and I was right.

Holy Smoke Mark. I'd be thinking seriously about that winter home in Florida if you don't already have one!

I am exactly, Jeff. Starting to look at options. Looking at maybe a
decent mobile home in the space coast area. Due to family
obligations, I still need to stay in Maine at least through the
summer. But wintering in Florida is becoming a major priority. The
three blizzards in March, plus the long bitter cold we got in January did it
for me.

    Mark,

if memory serves me correct (now that's an oxymoron at my age) didn't you get ticketed on I-4 for turn signals? That would be a
downside to Florida.

On the other hand, over on the other side, in SWFL nobody uses signals and always drives slow in the fast lanes. But it still beats the
Space Coast. IMHO

Good luck in finding a place, either Coast beats the snow pile you posted!

Wow, you have a good memory! I was returning from Sun & Fun. And I beat that ticket by hiring an online attorney who specialized in traffic tickets in Florida and California, who was recommended to me by someone here (might have been you, my memory is not so good). The fee was less than the ticket, and I avoided points against me and higher insurance premiums.

It was really my three years in South Carolina that forced me to change my driving habits. Every rinky-dink town there has at least one cop, who's job is to rake in revenue. I ran into several before I learned things were different than in the northeast.

I recalled your experience Mark because I thought it was a cheap trick to target out of state visitors. But then I remembered that
that is how we keep our taxes low, so we accept all contributions.

What's that old saying? "If summer comes on a weekend..."

There's another saying up here: "Winter is always coming."

And the true Northerners say "Oh, but the snow is so pretty!"

The snow is pretty in November and December up to Christmas. After February, we're sick of it.
