The Washington Seaplane Pilots Association hosted a splash-in at Tanglefoot seaplane base (D28) on Priest Lake, ID. The Tanglefoot seaplane base is owned by the wonderful Fenwick family, who were very gracious in having the WSPA on their property.
Burt Rutan was the guest of honor and speaker. He was scheduled to fly in his Skigull, but he needs a few more weeks to completed it. He was very intrigued with the SeaRey, hadn't seen one before. Naturally, I said ""let's go fly"". The engineer in him began performing phugoid oscillation test the moment we were airborne at 40'AGL
He was extremely impressed with the SeaRey's performance, especially getting off the water at gross with a DA of 3800'. I took up a few other Lake and floatplane pilots, as well. They were equally impressed. The SeaRey exceeded their expectations.
Here is a video of the approach into Priest Lake. Such a beautiful place! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOsz3YeiS3Q

The SeaRey did not out perform the Super Goose. However, he did use more fuel on his fly-by than I
used flying in from California😄
