You have touched on one of my very favorite subjects, accurate or not. It turns out that in the Northern Bay the VERY
best crabs are found in the Wye River. No comparison, THE BEST. This is so because the Coriolis Effect (suggested by
your salinity chart) causes particles moving in the Northern Hemisphere to be deflected to the EAST. Salt carried by the
bay waters enter in Norfolk and move with the tides and as the water moves Northbound; this results in the lines of
constant salinity sloping from the SW to the NE. It just so happens or turns out that the best salinity for crabs happens to fall in the
Wye River area.

Now, don't get me wrong, all Chesapeake Bay crabs are great. At least the Maryland ones. But the very best are from
the Wye River. If you don't believe me, buy me a beer and I'll tell the story all over again.
