Just caught the news of the new amphib on Avweb of the (www.Iconaircraft.com i really don't think there is a market for amphibs for a high powered team like they put together for this one. Check out the list of management and engineering they put together.
I haven't seen too many homebuilt interiors like they show on there website. I do like the little side platform that they have and prop splash gurard. Folding wings maybe. Their canopy, performance, flimsy gear, nada. I think they didn't learn from the Rutan nose gear on the ez birds.
I don't think this company will be around too long

5K deposit for a delevery maybe at the late 2010 and you dont know the balance due at this time, and the interest of your 5K...

Ouf, its dream that they sell... yup not around too long....

Kevin, I checked out the website. I started calculating how many they would have to sell just to pay the management and engineering team, and came to your same conclusion. Base price is $139K. I wish them luck, and I'll check them out at OSH.

    Hi Eric:

I've been an independent technology analyst in the stock market for 26 years and couldn't agree more with your observation.

Another item is amortization of development costs...... not many 'single product' companies in aviation come close on this item.

I wonder how many aircraft would need to be sold, just to offset the costs of the 'coming out party' shown in the video (such extravaganzas are extremely expensive to say the least)?

That said, the gals sure were 'good looking'. (g)

Best,
Larry
