The grand opening and fly in for the new Seaplane Base at Tavares /Mt Dora Florida will be
on April 10th, the day before Garners Landing Fly-in. Progressive will be moving their
operation to Taveres about that time and it also is the grand opening weekend for the new
Tavares Seaplane base. To celebrate the city of Tavares also has scheduled it to be the
same weekend as 'Planes, Trains and BB Que' day. Two nationally known Country bands
will be performing and there will be plenty to eat and drink. The new Seaplane Base and
Marina is the finish of a 4.2 million dollar project that will have 88 boat slips in the marina
and parking for seaplanes on land as well as floating docks for seaplanes. Boat gas and AV
fuel will also be available. A fly over of Seaplanes is planned to open the event. For more
details call me - Bob Toerner 859-992-4909

Is there any place I can land on land nearby and hitch a lift over to it?
Hi Tony:

I live in Tavares. You could land at leesburg regional if you need that kind of facility or Orlando north if more grass rooted. Either is 4/5 miles distant. happy to pick you up and/or offer free vehicle for your stay. Spare room also available.

708-642-9343

I am supposedly picking Tony up at Orlando north but I wouldn't mind dropping him off at ur place Lee
as long as I can get a go at your Olympic size liquor cabinet. I'll drink anything but I think Tony will be
needing his Crown Royal fix
