The Havre de Grace SPB, near Baltimore, appears to be in full operation now. Here's a photo from Google Maps:

There are restaurants nearby, including one identified in the photo.
(I like the sound ofHavre de Grace Seaplane Base)<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. Then walk south east 100 yards for your root canal.

Spent Friday night there. The H d G SPB is great. The pier is slightly shorter now than in Don's pic above, but the V-dock is there and it is perfect for a SeaRey...seriously, if I were waterfront, I would copy that design exactly.

The manager is very enthusiastic and wants more action. Just call him up and I'm pretty sure he'll do whatever he can for you.

Just walk out through 'Base Ops' (aka his toy store) and you're on the main drag. We ate at a great restaurant (Laurrapin) and stayed at one of the many B&Bs. Overall a great trip if you're anywhere near the Chesapeake.

I'd post pictures if I knew how.

Chuck, to add a photo to a thread like this, there are four steps:

1. Reply with some text.

2. Edit your reply.

3. Click on 'Add Files'; and in the browse window that appears, find the photo and select it.

4. Click on 'Save.' You're done.

(If you know a bit of html, you can get fancy by clicking on 'allow HTML' before step 3--but be prepared to Edit again and remove the html parts, which might require you to delete the photo or delete the entire reply and start over.)

    Just so!

It looks like they've made several improvements to the pier. When Carol and I were there by car a couple of years ago the toy store lady was very enthusiastic about having seaplanes there. We had lunch at the restaurant next door, and they were, too.
