Very well done Rob. Great job in editing and putting video together.

A couple of questions:

Is Vera's on St. Lenard's Creek still open for business?
Years ago the PAX River area was Restricted, is it still?

Also agree with Don's comments.

Robert Charlwood Richardson - Sep 04,2014 Viewers | Reply
Yes there are boat load of restricted areas down on the western side of
the Chesapeake Bay. It is a fact of flying for us tidewater SeaRey
drivers.
On Vera, I don't know
The airspace around Pax River NAS is restricted, SFC to 18,000, but
normally not on the weekend. I checked with PAX base ops before
leaving and again with PAX tower when I popped into the Patuxent
River.

neat- looks like some great areas to splash- have to get down there sometime-with the searey- I will be heading down to W29 in the 210 for a meeting nest Friday but my son had dibs on the Searey for the Glen Curtis homecoming in Hamondsport ny

Wow, what a great video Rob! Right through some of my
favorite splashing and dashing locations. I live on the creek
just NW of bridge and just N of the restricted airspace.
Would enjoy getting together next time you are down this way.
I keep my Searey at St Mary's airport where I got to share the
Searey fun during an EAA Young Eagles of First Responders
event yesterday. Attachments:

Buck, Yes I'd like to link up. Both Don and Linsey showed me where you base your SR down in Southern MD. This next Saturday is Essex SkyPark (W48) Wing & Wheels, so I won't make it down for Don's Splash-in. I plan to be down your way 28 Sept (Sunday) to checkout the progress of my new cottage in Able MD. I'll text you to see if you will be in. I'd really like to see you floating dock, since I need to build one at my new cottage.

Rob, I should be around the 28th and will plan on getting together.

Buck- if this is your long term parking, you risk sinking the plane when the elevator boot eventually starts
leaking. It's happened before. Even an automatic bilge pump won't save it as the battery will die
overnight trying to keep up. You've got a fabulous looking bird - just my 2 cents.

And remember snow load on the tail in winter. One of our members in Quebec learned about that the hard way.

It looks like it is supported by the fabric sling or whatever it is under the hull, As long as that is higher than the boom, it will only fill in slightly and easy to bilge out once pushed on the water although I haven't seen it up close. Nice setup as far as I can see

No long term parking planned, but have been thinking of adding some type of flotation/sling even for part day stops. The water is warm and brackish causing rapid growth of unwanted matter on anything that wouldn't corrode away. The sling looking contraption is three fenders tied on a continuous line to act as bumpers. Thought I could just cut the engine and bump on in, but the plane quickly weathercocks even in the slightest of breezes as soon as I shut off the engine requiring paddling approaches. I was originally thinking of tying it to a mooring in hope that it would align somewhat into the wind or tidal current so I could motor right in with the thought that the combination of the fenders and easy movement of the floating platform anchored to the mooring would gently slow the plane in the pocket. Haven't tried it yet as I would still need a way to get between the dock and floating platform. All that holds it in position are two spring lines that keep it gently centered on the pilings while floating up and down with the tide.<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. Buck, I have a 50 foot floating line attached to a weight. Sling that out into the creek. When you return you only have to hit the line, grab it as you cruise past it with the engine off. Saves having to try and hit the narrow gap in your u-dock. When you have the line grabbed, slowly pull yourself into the dock.<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. Great idea! Do you throw it out when you leave your dock for easy returns?

beautiful dock! Ken is right, perhaps a lift, or an alarm system/ cameras
