Is there such a thing? If not, I am thinking about compiling one... maybe along the lines of JD's Searey Locator. I'd be willing to compile it if I could get some restaurant recommendations from you 'flying eateries'.

There is: 'Recreational Areas for Seaplane Pilots, U.S. & Canada' by Bill Schmatz, 101 S.E. 7 Street, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441, phone 954-421-8917. I got mine from the Seaplane Pilots Association and it's several years old.

The Florida Flying Gators club had a list with distances from Gator Field (3FD4). I'll see if I can find it. (Yep. See attached Word file.)

Attachments:

    Dan,

Sure would be nice if they had GPS lat/long. Heck they don't even have the flying direction from Gator field!

Well, er, hmm, actually they have such a list but I seem to have, um, misplaced it.

Thanks Dan. I'll see if I can add more info. It's a good start though... just don't want to have to fly to X61 just to get the heading to the restaurant!

Anybody else got their favorite spot to add?... even outside of Florida... or US? If I receive enough input, I'll post on this site.

Crystal Cove Marina, just north of Palatka, on the St. Johns River. The marina has a fast food grill, and the Corky Bell's Seafood restaurant is across the parking lot. The ramp is really nice, and depending on boat traffic, plenty of parking. A ramp fee is charged (+/- $5.00) Limited amount of shoreline parking (3-4 planes) is available.

Dan, that's Loughman Lake, not Laughman. JB

Just checking to see if anyone has landed on Lake Sumter at The Villages... just south of Ocala, FL. Was there a while back eating at one of the waterfront restaurants and thought it would be a nice place to splash in.

Add the Dam Diner to the list. Parking is at Smith Park on the Ocklawaha River at Moss Bluff, FL. It's a pleasant five minute walk from the park to the restaurant at the park entrance of CR464. There are three small beaches suitable for single SeaReys.
