Hey everybody -- I hope this doesn't classify as technical. I was wondering if any of you down there close to PA have heard anything about a 4-place Searey coming out in the somewhat near future? I can't remember where, but I read a review article on the Searey and the author mentioned that a 4-place was in the works. If the STOL capabilities are maintained with the bigger version, the Searey may have virtually no compition....(the Seawind might be fast, but 1400 ft take off roll isn't all that impressive).

Lynx, The factory toyed with the idea and build a VERY rough full sized model a long time ago. However, even the factory admitted they have no plans to pursue that. They are starting work on a larger 2 place but that won't be available for years.

I guess most recreational amphib homebuilders aren't interested in the 200 hp Lycoming sucking 13 gallons of avgas an hour...kind of defeats the purpose (why not just buy a Lake). Still it seems that it would corner the market in 4-place, STOL, kit-built amphibs (if there ever was such a market)

Frank, you don't have pics of this 'static display' by chance do you? The 'Bubba Rey' makes sense now.

I'm not sure it will be years... Pa has a CF hull , Deck & TD done. Fuel goes to sponsons , Pusher, Lyc or Cont power. I know design & prototype work is ingoing. New design will essentially remove fuse structures from interior & use more composit structurally. One thing that will delay for sure is if deal on property in Zellwood goes thru as PA will have to build & relocate operations while staying in Kit business.
