As you can imagine, a whole lot of folks in this area are very dependant on the material that flies into this base every day. However, this is basically a 'fighter jock' community and they generally have little experience with heavy airlift. I'm the heavy airlift guy on base. (not the only, but just about) So now, the top dogs really want to understand the airlift hitting this base so they can be sure it's being done as well as possible. So what do I find myself doing today? I'm in a confrence room, standing in front of a white board, drawing flowcharts and explaining all the process' involved in moving cargo thru this base to a bunch of VERY motivated and high ranking folks. (I wasn't the only one teaching, but it makes the story better) So I'm standing there and all of a sudden it hits me, I'm in a flipping war zone and I can't escape my fate...I'm doomed to draw flowcharts. I don't know, but somehow, this isn't what I expected to be doing in Iraq! The kudos were nice, but I needed some time back on the flight line before the dizzyness went away. As my lovely wife says, 'Even driving a sports car, you're still just a dork in a sports car.'

Keep that seatbelt buckled, Ken. For whatever reason you're there, just keep your head down (under the white board if it helps) and come back safe and soon. We're rooting for you over here.

Ken, Just be glad the Brass doesn't have you doing Power Point. I don't care what your wife says, you are a stud to us.
