The debriefing from Paige was quite unusual, Ken. Typically when I ask, 'How'd he do?,' Paige just shakes his head and says something like, 'He'll be swimming soon.' This time, the answer was different: 'Either he has flown a SeaRey before or he's a natural.'

Congratulations.

Yeah, right...So his death grip on the seat was just a show? His mumbling something about 'Please let me live and I'll never fly with this idiot again!' wasn't for me? Must have been the 4 tries it took me to get the gear down in the water that convinced him of my superior ability. Oh, and pinched the %#&^ out of my bare toes doing it too! Or my absolute inability to hit the correct trim button after about 10 tries. Or my comment that 'boy those flaps are hard to put down - to which he gently replied - 'well, it's easier if you aren't diving at 90 mph.' Or the 4 times he had to remind me to pull back the throttle from 50 gazzillion RPM, or, or...but whatever, it was fun. Thanks again.

Congrats Ken. Sounds like you made all the usual first time mistakes. I agree on the flaps being hard to pull in, even at 70. I finally made a longer flap handle. Now I can pull 'em, in with out coming out of the seat.

Congrats Ken...at least he didn't have to remind you to raise the gear after taxiing into the water. # 2 grandson did that once with me. Sure improved the t/o performance.
Thanks again for your 'skinny wheels and hubs '. They sure are easier to extend in the water.
Happy and safe flying!!

To know her is to love her Ken and don't forget, you must learn from each other too. Congratulations, enjoy!
