Rat River SPB, near Winton, NC. Restaurant open for lunch Saturdays and Sundays.<br /><br />David Joyner, one of the builders, says, 'Rat Landing SPB is a fresh water base located 2.3 NM Northwest of Cofield VOR (CVI: 114.60). Although not charted, it's coordinates are N 36 23' 41' W 76 54' 34'. The base encompassess a sandy beach, gravel parking for amphibs on land, and a low bulkhead. A 12' wide wooden ramp can be used to taxi out of the water onto the gravel parking. Mooring of seaplanes can also be accomplished along the shoreline.
