I'm attending the three two day Rotax classes the week after SnF. Any of you Florida boys have any recommendations as to a decent (read - cheap but nice) place to stay while I'm there? I'll be driving so it doesn't have to be all that close to the field. They let me off on Sunday, 4/20 so I may try to make my way to X61 or other fun spot on that day.
The Lockwood Expo site has a long list but I have no idea which are dumps and which are clean. I found, when I was at PA taking training, that the Comfort Inn was the same price as the place I was staying with lizzards in the room. But there's no Comfort Inn in Sebring.

Lizzards are a free benefit of hotels in Florida. Sort of like the chocolate truffle on the pillow...but crunchier.

They're hard to catch too. Even harder to hit with a 9mm.

Actually, the more sophisticated method is rat shot in a 22 cal. Anyway, I booked the Quality Inn in Sebring.

    Dennis,
Only the nicer hortels have lizzards. They keep the palmetto bugs(roaches) in check!

looks nice but pricey. I got Quality down to $79.99 room + breakfast, plus a room refrigerator. Of course, I'll have to do my own lizzard extermination.

Rick is correct, If you are killing lizards in Florida, its because you dont know much about what they eat and what else is most likely in your room. Florida is insect heaven! Spread the word.

Dennis, My name is Terry Eliason and I live in Sebring. I own a SeaRey and am also attending two of the classes on the 12-13--14-15. It could be possible for you to get into these classes(even the third set). These are a special 'extra' classes they are offering since there was a high demand around Sun N Fun. I don't know what your schedule, but there is a possibly that you could stay at my place no matter what days you are going to Lockwood. Give me a call @863-382-8224 or 239-877-6767cell. I live about 8 miles from the airport.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I have to be up here for a meeting on the 14th. So I registered for the Tues/Wed and Thur/Saturday classes that week, plus the Mon/Tues heavy maintenance session the next week. I'll give you a call.

Lizzards are part of the Florida experience, not just in motels. Good insect control. Only downside is the droppings.
