Has anyone landed a Searey on snow with the wheels up? Seems like a cool thing to do.

Not yet, But maybe someday. Do you need a ski rating?

I was going to try to land my Aventura on snow this year but I chickened out. There is a guy up in Vermont that reportedly does it all the time. Since I am on a grass strip, I would have had to drag the plane out in the snow, then jack it up so I could retract the gear, then have to get it back up on it's gear to get it back in my hanger. Too much trouble at the time. I tried to talk Don Maxwell into landing on my snowed over strip since he is on a plowed public airport, so he could take off on wheels then land on my strip but he was not for it.

If it can be done on an Aventura, I am sure someone has done it in a Searey.

The way the lake froze this year it would have been an excellent year to try it but there is no GA flying because of the Olympics.
