OK you camera buffs. How are you mounting your camera in the SR for still or video recording? I recently purchased an Olympus Tough 6020 that has still & video capability and would like to try it in the plane. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Randy,
I'm still testing and adjusting an 'elcheapo' idea. It
features an adjustable
mount from Hong Kong for $5 and some Velcro to the
top of the panel. See
the attached photo. I can't recommend it yet as my
test
yesterday produced a
camera focus on the windscreen and not the scenery
out from. I got a half
hour of great blurry scene. The advantages are
cheap,
easily attached &
removed, camera reachable from pilot position. If I
get it
working well, I'll let
you know.

Others have posted some really good results with
various cameras and mounts. Attachments:

Where did you find the camera mount? Given your results, I need to check how my camera handles the focus issue with the windscreen.

When I'm not too lazy to twist the camera a few times I use a beanbag camera rest that my son, Chris, gave me. I don't know the details, but it's a regular camera shop item. It weighs about half a pound, I guess, and is about 4 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. Bean bag with a 1/4' bolt on top--make one yourself.

Rudy had about the slickest option I've seen to date: the GoPro camera. Costs about $300, has a waterproof enclosure, takes HD video and has a host of different mounting systems available. Rudy flew around durring the gaggle with this attached to his plane.
Check it out:

http://www.goprocamera.com/
