I'm desperately looking for a residential lot that is accessible with a Searey. I'm looking at one on Crescent Lake in Clermont. Does anyone know if this lake is usable?<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->      Attachments:

There used to be a guy fly out of Crescent Lake with a Lake amphib. Did you look at the lot off of Log house Road on the NW corner of Saw Mill Lake? It's really close to where you have been looking and has a perfect beach for seaplane ops.<br /><br />

No, this is in Martins Landing on the west shore and seems to have a lot of weeds just off the shore. It's low enough however, if the weeds are cleared, to taxi up to. Because it's a residential neighborhood, I need to find out if I could construct a structure for the plane.

Dave have you looked at John's Lake. about 5 or 10 miles just <br />east of where your looking? <br />It's very searey friendly, plenty of room for step taxing, take off <br />and landings with any wind <br />direction and protected form the wind.<br /><br />Give me a call and I'll show you around by searey or boat. 305-<br />772-5009

Thanks, Are the lots large enough for a Searey size hangar? Any for sale that you know of?

Gary Johnson - Nov 08,2010   Viewers  | Reply
The lot on Log House Road is plenty large enough for a hangar. Just found out the price is 485K for the lot! Ouch. Heck, just buy my house for a little more...I already put in the concrete ramp.

Plenty of space and lots are for sale. also some homes that are already built. look at johns <br />lake on google maps so you can see how large the lakes are. some seaplanes and a <br />helicopter already live on this lake.

Thanks for the information. We will look while we are up there this Sunday. My preference is to get a lot and build on it in a couple years after I get to quit my job..<br /><br />I saw Johns lake and that would be easy to commute to Orlando from. I'm checking listings from all over...<br />

Hi Dave,<br />there is also a lot on 3fd9 in altamonte springs. It already has a house on it but I believe the backyard is pretty decent size for building a storage for your searey too. Ill talk to you more about it this sunday!

Phil,<br />That ramp looks a little steep for a Rey.<br />John's lake has a better suited beach all the way around.

Dave Martin - Nov 10,2010   Viewers  | Reply
Thanks Phil, keep em coming.<br />....<br />John, That's real close to my stomping grounds. I'll see you this Sunday..thanks.

Crescent lake in Windermere or Clermont?? the one in Windermere has a Lake based and <br />it's a larger lake with N/S and E/W Runways

A loaded 1370 lb searey is lighter than the empty weight of the lighter models of the Lake. Some are up to 1850 lbs empty. I watched one do a couple of landings and takeoffs from my sub-2000' lake. It was terrifying to watch as he had zero cushion with minimal gas and solo. I wouldn't hesitate to take a searey into any lake a 'lake' can get out of.

Philip Mendelson - Nov 13,2010   Viewers  | Reply
Keep shopping buddy, there are lots of 'big' lakes in Florida....

Daniel Paul Myers - Nov 10,2010   Viewers  | Reply
Is this a competition?? Lol I think I have the steepest ramp of them all...

Troy iRMT Heavy Maint. Enriquez - Nov 11,2010   Viewers  | Reply
on Johns lake you can do three touch n goes before you have to jump over a little land <br />bridge and then get in another touch n go in before you have to start turning.
