I must have been a pretty good boy last year because Santa left me a video camera designed for in cockpit recordings (and I don’t remember ever mentioning that I wanted one.)

It is very easy to use…simply mount, plug in-line with a headset, point, and click it on. With the 8 gig chip, it will record a two hour flight!

The quick time files it produces are DVD picture quality. The voice and radio recordings don’t overcome the shortcomings of my radio or mics.

Windows Movie Maker and QuickTime are much improved. Editing is much, much easier now than 5 years ago, but still a PITA. Who has time to do it…and then who wants to see it when it’s done? Can a Wav file be posted? My first edited videos, in the smallest resolution I have found, should be attached.

(the video was deleted to make space for one with both intercom and overlying music...)

That looks like the sort of camera I'm after. Can you post Name, Model etc and especially photo/description of mount? I was about to start loooking for a camera.

Check out this link to Sportys http://sportys.com/PilotShop/product/15727 for info on the NFlightCam.

The resolution of the picture in the HD mode recordings is magnificent.

What I especially like about the NFlightCam is that it accepts audio from the intercom. It's pricey, though.

The learning curve with Microsoft Movie Maker Editor has the correct slope. Attached is a 'love song' dedicated to DaPlane that has intercom and overlying music!

(this video was deleted by the poster to make space for his next video.)

That's a great camera, Tom, and your video turned out nicely, too. Well done! Is it chilly in Long Beach?

Chilly? No! It's been darn cold. The daily highs haven't been much above 68 F in the last couple of weeks.

The OAT (upper right panal) at the start of the video indicates 62.7 F. Brrrr! I'm wearing a leather flight jacket and the heater fan (switch at panal center bottom) is on.

My Paige and I are off to Cabo on Thursday to escape these harsh winter conditions.

It's all about keeping you under surveillance. Be aware my friend.

Nice video BTW... could you tilt up just a bit to see more skyline?
