Hi everyone!

I wanted to take a minute in between finishing term papers to introduce myself.
My name is Josh Smith. I'm a graduating senior at the University of Southern Indiana with
a degree in finance. (May 8th) I've always had my eyes in the sky since childhood. My
parents were never really interested in aviation so I took it upon myself to seek it out.

After having several conversations with my mothers friend about her plane, I decided it
was time for me to just do it. The next day I took my 'Intro Flight', and I've been hooked
ever since. I only have 8 hours in a 172N in my log book, but there are several spaces to
be filled. I work part time while I am in school and take lessons at Tri State Aero
(Evansville, IN) whenever I have time and can afford it.

I have always had a fascination with seaplanes and after an abundance of drool over
videos and pictures I have convinced myself that an amphibian is what I want to be in
one day.

I apologize for the poorly constructed introduction, but my brain is simply mush after this
semester.

I'm sure you all have grown tired of reading my grammatically deficient rant, and I'll close
this out by saying I look forward to contributing to anything I can, and please feel free to
email me at Smith.Josh.W@gmail.com or add me on facebook at
www.facebook.com/makeRx7UPyours

Thank you everyone,

Joshua

I still say it's not fair that all these younguns' are finding out about the most fun flying there is right off the bat! They should have to work their way up to seaplanes just like we did in the old days!

(Welcome, Joshua.)

Dan, I totally agree.....I grew up in a family owned Boat business, we cleaned boat bottoms with scrapers and brushes loaded with red clay, my Dad was too cheap to buy a pressure cleaner. He spent his money on a brand new 1966 Mooney Executive.
And yes 18,000.00 cash....
However had the Searey been around in 1966 it would have been a much different picture. My Dad would have bought a Searey in a New York minute....,and we would have been flying the wings off of it....

Welcome Joshua. Try to get a flight in a Searey and it will change your perspective on flying.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm working very hard to get into a seaplane. I can't
afford one at the moment, but hope to one day. I love the searey and everything about
it. I don't know how many videos I have watched over and over again on YouTube. I
would like to build my own, but don't know if I could handle having to wait so long to
complete the build phase.

I would love to get a flight in one of these airframes, but unfortunately I live in southern
Indiana, and I don't know anyone with one.

I will definitely be trying to attend some Splash Ins and Air Shows this year.

Welcome, Josh. You're definitely on the right track! I'm 21 and own my very own Searey. I love it. If
you're ever in Orlando, let me know. I'll ad you on Facebook
Thats really great! I wish I would have gotten into aviation as opposed to race cars,
motorcycles, show trucks, and competitive paintball. I wasted an ridiculous amount of
money on silly phases.

I actually plan on being in Florida this summer. I'm going to take my gf and her son to
Disney.

Yes, please do add me on Facebook, I'd like to chat with you and get your perspective
on some things.
