Got a new Sprint HTC evo 4g smart phone, has anyone found any good apps for aircraft navigation for the gps on this android phone, I want to try using it for this years trip to Airventure.

check that out for us Russ. im getting mine real soon.  . what did you pay? RadioShack <br />has it for 179.99. for sprint customers with the upgrade credit. I also found on Ebay car <br />chargers and Batteries for 1.99 and like 8.00 bucks respectively

Yes Russ, I have the Sam phone.... there are quite as few good ones I <br />use.hamada I have only find your place well Russ go the the market <br />aand in the search type just the word ' aviation' the is one called <br />aviation gps, the fun way to go ,aviation weather . 3 different apps but <br />come awe as package for $4: per month it is great I love it..... send me <br />your # so I can share it with you...

Troy, I got this one new, unlocked off ebay for $350. These are Sprint phones and I put this one back on Sprints data plane that has just about everything for $69 a month. I don't want to pay that much so I think after I get back from the trip to Osh I'm going to hack the rom over to boost and try it for $50 a month unlimited everything. I don't know if boost has that great of coverage so I think I'll leave it on sprint until I get back. I know Don Maxwell was using MotionX on his Iphone but I don't know if it works on the androids.

Russ - My android has 'Bearing + Dist. SE'. I think I paid $2 for it. You can get the 'lite' version free.<br />There is 'crumb tracker' to remember where you've been. Or 'journey tracker' for the same.<br />'My tracks' also. <br />However, weatherbug elite (about $3) has great moving map radar and that's my favorite app.<br />Then, there is the good, old fashioned 'maps' which I think is on any android phone and google earth. Google earth on the PC has an overlay feature for aviation maps but I don't believe that's available on smart phones yet. <br />
