Barbara and I are contemplating a trip to the Keys (thinking Key West) in February. We never have been. We will be driving. Anyone have any suggestions of where to stay and what to do?
I looked in the files and saw Lima's favorite place. Any other suggestions?

A driving tip: Once you get to the Ga/Fl border, your trip has just begun; Entering the Keys, you're "Half-Way There" Key Largo and Marathon are nice waypoints.

Avoid days with multiple cruise ships in port. Online schedules are available.

Tour the Truman Winter White House, which is a testament to a modest man despite being
President. Also the house of Ernest Hemingway, a less modest man.

Try lunch outdoors at the Blue Heaven restaurant, a truly unique setting.

February temps on average: 76F high, 66 low (add 5 degrees in April)

Hi Dennis, we suggest eating one night at Lattitudes Restaurant on Sunset Key Island. You take a short boat ride across from Key West. The food was Delicious, and you eat out in the sand, with a table on a square wood piece. It doesn't get any more tropical then that. Bruce & I have stayed at some of the Bed & Breakfasts at different times. We also suggest going out to Fort Jefferson, either by boat or seaplane. We flew the SeaRey out there in 2001. Thanks all! Actually, we discovered it may be March or April before we can actually get away. So the temps will be more to my liking. Restaurant ideas sound cool.
