Hello all,

This July I had an opportunity to fly one week with Peter Schoenenberger (www.3dwarfs.com and show some of Finlands opportunities for Seaplane flying.

I'm preparing an introcution movie about our Adventure and will post a link here when it's ready (within couple of days). But for now here are some details.

- 8 days flying
- 20 hours airtime
- 1000 nautical miles
- 10 different areas
- mainly good weather
- some challenging operations
- different cabins, cottages and houses
- interesting peoples
- sunsets
- barbequeing
- and different SAUNA experiences

For me it was also interesting Adventure because I planned it so that most of places were new for me also (at least with my plane). We have some 188000 lakes here in Finland, so no need to go to same places all the time

Peter may add some comments here, but I think that mostly he were impressed about our freedom to use our lakes and what opportunities that gives... Also peoples were always offering help if needed and not complaining about our flying, not even when we beached and re-fueled on swimming beaches...

Included is map of our actual route and just some picture to wake up interest...

(PS. we had 3 video cameras, 2 still cameras and voice recorder with us so there is some editing ahead)

Attachments:

Wow, Markku! What a fantastic journey. With Peter along I know it was very well photographed. I'll be waiting in line for the video's debut.

So here is my 'trailer' for future movie. Actual movie editing takes quite a time so don't expect it to be ready any time soon... But this trailer is ready enought to be put in tube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0KVq5oaLGA&feature=plcp

Great job Markku! Scenery is beautiful. As Ken mentions, the music is great but Ken doesn't mention the title of the first song suggesting his memory might be fading :-). Great job on the video!

That is a great trailer Markku! I especially like the very first music. That is from an old American Western and sets the tone for your adventure.

Terrific Adventure, Markku! With that many lakes, it must be hard to plan a route--because just about any route would take you to water.

Great video! Remote camera system working well?

Markku Salminen - Jul 27,2012 Viewers | Reply
Yes it's working OK. Only thing that I would like to improve is vibration. But it seems to be really hard to improve with these cameras.

Thanks Markku, for giving Peter a taste of Nordic seaplane life! In my mind, Finland is our Nordic
'Florida' - without the alligators and with cleaner (and cooler) waters.

Hello my florida old friends. The journey with markku was great. Markku is not only a good host but also
a safe searey pilot. And there is no better seaplane than the searey. Yes, finland is the land of 1000
lakes. However instead of aligators you have to watch out for hidden rocks and powerlines on those
lakes. By the end you are quite limited with landings where you have never been before. But most
important, the finish people are quite happy to see a seaplane landing next to them! Hardly to find
elsewhere.
