Soon after I started flying SeaReys, almost all other airplanes seemed as though they would
NEVER get off the ground. The takeoff roll seemed to take FOREVER. Here's a very brief video
that might illustrate why--or, at least, show that a SeaRey takes off rather quickly. Attachments:

Don, Ten seconds is great. You must weigh less than Ken L.

It was just a normal takeoff, Frank, and I was surprised to be airborne that quickly. Ken probably would have gotten up quicker, being lighter, even with the 100 hp engine.

Don, that's what it looked like the first time I tried to do just a crow hop on the first test flight in my Searey.

My final fast-taxi test went even faster.

I can't speak to my time on runway takeoffs. I've done many water takeoffs at 7 seconds with a headwind. That's idle to off the water in 7 seconds.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJE9xGMSRCU
