Nice!!

Next time anyone does it, look for the 'Wheel Stop' plaques embedded in the runway. http://www.collectspace.com/news/news-070512a.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-O25M9EhtI

http://sts134launch.blogspot.com/

Cool! And they have a seaplane runway, too!

What makes the pavement so dark? Surely it can't all be rubber. Mildew?

    Rob
Glad to see one of our members has visited the 'wonderful town/city' named after our family. even though most of us are in Oz. We (they) made the famous Moline Tractors going back a long time.
There is only one family of Moline's in OZ, which is a bit special.
One day I shall also visit Moline myself.
My grandfather was a mining engineer and we have a town (workers camp, now abandoned) of Moline in the Northern Territory. He was responsible for engineering a bunch of rail lines that opened up outback OZ.
So endeth the lesson and some boasting.

Outstanding! For the Shuttle Runway length it's almost a Cross-Country flight!
