The eaglerey is sitting at the Boyne City airport waiting for nice weather so Sharon and I can enjoy the fall colors from above.
The trip north from Brighton only took 48 hours?????. 200 miles came on Thursday when I took off from Brighton with warm
temps and broken clouds. Climbed to 2500 feet and enjoyed the ride for the first 2 hours. I knew there was a line of storms
north of Traverse City but the line was thin and I was sure they'd be long past by the time I got there. They were but they left
clouds behind with temp 14/14 dew point. 68 nm short of destination I came down on Bear Lake with visibility now down to
maybe 2 miles and ceiling around at 600 agl. I know, I was turning around when I saw the lake on radar, one mile to lake, 10
miles to closest airport. From 4:00 Thurs til Saturday morning the ceiling never got above 500 feet, then Saturday there were
more storms in the area so it was noon before the skies cleared. The weather will be stormy for two more days, maybe we'll
get some flying in on Tues or Wed.
