I am surprised the drone didn't get tossed in the lake as it flew into the prop wash as she taxied ashore.
Water that glassy will hurt you on more than the landing. You can become airborn without knowing it while step taxiing at greatly reduced power settings. Try it yourself. I was in the air at something between 3-4 rpm. The takeoff was so subtle, I did not know.

That's why he put it on the ground so quickly. You are right on becoming airborne. I make sure to keep the speed below 40mph and that seems to work.
