The standard way to post a link to some other webpage here is to do Adv. Edit and use the Add Web Link link.
However, it is possible to post a link right in the body of your text. But it's a bit tricky. If you paste a URL (a link to another web site) into something you post here, it won't be a "hot" link. Your readers will have to copy and paste it into a browser. But you can make it "hot" with only a short, easy line of HTML code.
Here is a generic sample hotlink: <a href="YOUR LINK">NAME OF YOUR LINK</a>
Replace YOUR LINK with the link--for example, https://www.searey.com
Replace NAME OF YOUR LINK with something appropriate, such as: Progressive Aerodyne .
Be sure to leave the quotation marks that are in the generic sample, above.
Here's the html code for this example:
<a href="https://www.searey.com">Progressive Aerodyne</a>
Just paste it into your post or reply. Click on Save, and try it out. NOTE: To make the link "hot" you may have to click on "Edit" and then "Save" without making any changes.
NOTE: Do NOT use "Adv. Edit" or "Advanced (allow HTML)"
If it doesn't work or if you just don't like it, delete the code and save again. Or delete the whole post.
(Remember, use the normal "Edit" mode, not "Adv. Edit." )
Here's a variation that OPENS THE LINK IN A NEW BROWSER WINDOW OR TAB, leaving your post intact:
<a href="YOUR LINK" target="blank">NAME OF YOUR LINK</a>
So for the Progressive Aerodyne link, above, you'd have:
<a href="https://www.searey.com" target="blank">Progressive Aerodyne</a>
Take care to get all of the punctuation right!
Ah, but even if you do everything right, many viewers won't notice that it's a hotlink. That's why it's usually better to use the "Add Web Link" trick, instead.
