The test pilot on the Seadart said you needed to have very good fillings in your teeth flying the Seadart on water.
I just read that the Seawind has a stall speed of 72 mph. You would think a slow touchdown speed on the water by an amphibian would be a designers goal.
This is where my A Hull Searey at 1250 pounds really shines. I find the 33 knot stall speed just right for the A Hull on light to moderate chop. Anything over moderate chop gives the teeth fillings a test. No white caps or wind streaks, please. That Seadart test pilot had brass balls and good teeth, in my opinion!

Good points Buck. However, haven't you made these poins several times in other postings?<br />We are just culling the non-essential stuff. <br />However, If anyone has a sacred cow or two, I'm sure we can accomodate.

Good lord, John! Don't get him started on the merits of flying bovines. Just think of the muffler problems THEY must have!

Buck, it's the <I>male</I> flying bovines I worry about--bulls, that is. Their "exhaust" seems to be everywhere. It's really hard to design a good bull exhaust muffler, and even harder to keep it clean.<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->
