Description: Pre flighting the Tiger Moth prior to a formation flight over, and around Picton Airport. One of the few remaining maintained WW2 training airports for the British Commomwealth Air Training Plan, it is utilized for a lot of films. Thousands of young men/boys...came from all the Commomwealth Countries...and the USA to get their wings and go oversea to ' fight the Hun '. VMU was the ideal photo platform for the aerial sequences. No pay, but what a blast!

    Buck
Small world.

Early sixties I did two sessions with the University Air Squadron at Bicester ( in Chipmunks,) I was at school down the road at St Edwards and we did flying camps there. In my last year there I trained for my PPL at Kidlington, (Oxford) Airport which is close by.
