Description: I took my son up in the Searey for his first time. He really enjoyed it even though he did get motion sickness. (note to self: keep air sick bag on passanger side of plane) I glad there is no carpet on my floor.

Estimated GRW was 1,410 pounds, about 3% overgross. Plane did well, there was some bumpy air and I tried to keep my landings smooth. It was nice having plenty of nose down trim.

    Robert,

I was taking a passenger around and she was getting air sick. She was just about to pop when I reached over and opened her side window. The rush of cool fresh air was instant relief for her. An imminent messy situation was avoided. File in the 'News you can use' catagory.

And in case Jeff's trick doesn't work, I always tell them to put in their shirt. It's a bit gooey (or chunky, depending on what comes up), but at least it feels comfortingly warm on the belly, it cleans up easily, and the airplane doesn't reek afterward. Zip-Loc bags work pretty well, too, of course, but you have to remember to rinse 'em out before the next passenger, so I recommend them only if the passenger isn't wearing a tucked-in shirt. The worst thing is for them to try heaving it over the side. Tsk! It almost always blows right back in on them and what doesn't stick blows into the baggage compartment, where it's almost impossible to clean up.

Robert, I like the 'EXPERIMENTAL' placard on the windshield support. That's where I put it mine--but the DAR said the letters weren't tall enough and made me put it elsewhere.

Don, your remedy reminds me of one night during a red alert in Vietnam, I was gunner on Huey, the pilot and a passanger got sick, up chucked and you know where all the lumps and liquid went, right straight back to the HELL HOLE where I was sitting, YEP you guessed it, I GOT SICK TOO. GAG GAG

    Charlie and John,

The boots are simply on the inside of the hull. This keeps them away from UV rays. In fact, as far as I know they are the original boots from 1995 and don’t leak a drop. Of course, now that I have boasted about them they will promptly begin leaking. They are attached on the inside with blind rivets and silicone.
