    Bu hao, comrade! Just think of the 12 street sweepers who are are out of work now. Tsk! What would Chairman Mao say to that--eh? And who will keep track of the comings and goings on their streets now? Eh? Beware of innovation, comrade. It can wreak terrible havoc.

    B&#229;rd, that whole photo makes me nervous--because nothing looks quite as I'd expect. I lived in China for a while in the early 80s, and that's where my vision of the place is stuck. True, the cyclist appears to be wearing a Mao jacket, but 20 years ago, the truck would have been a two-wheel tractor, the brightly-colored signs would have been made of paper, and the street sweeper would have been a man or woman. And the USA wouldn't be on its last generation of aging machinists. (Thank you, WalMart &amp; Co.!)
