How cold was the air temperature, Jeff? I have been tempted to do this but thought that the wheels, brakes, etc. might be frozen when I landed. The air temperature here would be several degrees into the freezing.

Hello Bert, I am based on a lake so I always operate on water. I do not take off or land when the temperature is below freezing. I don't think the ice sickles on the tail would be very aerodynamic and they also would not help my balance which is already at the aft limit when I fly solo.
