Was this Herb Shriner's PBY ? I used to see his airplane in Nassau when I was flying DC-9s with Air Jamaica in the early '70's. The PBY had an opulent exec interior with lounges in the bubbles. Great for spotting the drug runners......so they tell me.

Boy, those wing support struts look about as strong as the searey struts...maybe we could put this wing on the searey...yeah, the engines too. Heck, the tip floats would probably keep the hull out of the water anyway. Mmmm, that nose doesn't look like original equipment...

No, this wasn't Shrinner's. It was stripped down to the bare bones. No FE station,All was as it was built. WE used to set up about 300' sink rate and wait till it hit. We had 8 JATO bottles for TOs or if the sea was too high.<br /> I've seen Shrinners plane,nothing compared to a Brain Shurgen's from CA. He had A 310 outboard of R-2000's the 310 Engines had reversable props. The interier was super plush Bed room and bath.<br /> Papa Charlie R
