My family homestead is in upstate NY so I looked up your address. Penfield NY! Our family home is called Penfield Cottage. It's on Lake George, NY.

Ken, Guess that Penfield guy was pretty connected. Do you fly off L. George? I plan to base my SR in North Victory, NY at a grass strip called Paradise. Can see the Little Sodus bay outlet to L. Ontario on lift off and not too far from you. My alternate sea base will be Meadow cove on Little Sodus AKA Hair Haven. May see you at altitude in month or so as I am making final prep for 1'st flight. Cheers. Quite a few SR's basing in NY. Suppose we should get together and blow our horn like the FL RN's.

Tom, I'm based out of Tampa. My huge family visits the old place (built in 1903) each summer. My dream is to fly up there and land in Oneida Bay and taxi up to our dock.

I only moved down 4 years ago, so I'm still working on my 'tan', but I seem to recall that rural NY has some rather colorful charatures itself! When you are ready to visit FL, give me a shout. We've always happy to visit with a neighbor.
