Description: Here is a picture of VH-AJB, our recently purchased rey. The picture was taken by its previous owner. We are about to take delivery of it and can't wait. It has only 60 Hours on it and power is a 912 (100 Hp) We are already going to make a few changes, new wheels and a larger tank. The colour scheme is growing on us..let us know your thought. Regards Garth.

What kind of prop is on that? Love the colors!

The colours sure beat having to paint or building one; happy flying!

Think we are changing to a three blade prop, this may of been done already. I understand the wheels need changing to the 'less boyant' versions but what else would improve things ? Thanks about the colour comments. we love it too!

It is not 'less buoyant' you are looking for. The wheels you have are very weak. DO NOT OVERFILL the tires or the wheels may burst apart and cause a violent explosion. My friend had several hours of surgery on his hand after just such an accident with my original wheels. Those wheels are not made for Searey loads and cannot handle the pressure the tires are labeled for.
The manual says something like 18 PSI. Believe it!

Frank, the prop looks like a IVO mag. to me

    Lets see what's new that I can remember;
1-trim motor on tail section (you got it)
2-double horizontal stabilizer top wires (insteads of single wire)
3-Single wing floats strut (instead of the 'U' shape bar)
4-Large wheels
5- 'If GOD ment for men to fly, he would have given him more money.
Thanks very much Frank. Think we are ok for the moment. Well, looks like the first thing to do is wheel replacment. What should I go for ? The latest P.A wheels or aftermarket ones ? Thanks for your helpful comments guys. Should we will do all the mods when funds allow.

Garth, talk to Rob. I think he has a good Australian replacement wheel..

Frank G, Seeing as Garth said 'no', I would be interested in talking about your float struts. Have VH DUX, B hull, 912s, built about 1999, now with most mods added, IVO prop, LR tank, Spun Al wheels, smaller radiator, etc etc and air box being fitted this week, however, never got hold of the new struts. You may recall the photo of my 'pelican clip diagonal pylon braces' posted about a year ago. Cantact here or jmoline@moline.com.au

Thanks John. Rob is sorting this for us and being of great help. Thanks for the help guys.

Frank, yes understand, but thought that if you are throwing struts out there may be a way of my being able to catch them at postage cost only. Is that the idea of your offer?

Frank, Yes, we know Rob and actually bought the sea rey though him as we were about to order the kit when this one come up for sale and was professionally built. We also got the Sea rey manual and syllabus which is very professional. The next picture of me flying the Sea Rey around Sydney harbour is Robs Rey.

Frank, I am looking fwd to helping Bing & Garth get acclimatised in their new SeaRey.This is the SeaRey that Dan flew on the GASA back in 2001.

John H....you have mentioned some of the reasons why I have already advised Bing & Garth to upgrade the wheels.

The prop is a new IVO Medium which I recently supplied to Geoff McKinnirey, the previous owner.

I wish Geoff best wishes and look fwd to him returning to Australia in about 4 years when he says he will retire and build another SeaRey.
