    Ed,<br /><br />The cowling is made of Carbon fiber and weighs about 5 to 6 pounds. There is no difference on operating temps. It has no effect on trim. I think the plane is slightly faster with it, but it is hard to say for sure. Others have this same cowling in fiberglass without the holes cut in the top and are not happy with it. I think the carbon fiber and oval holes in the top are key.<br /><br />

    Frank, we are interested in buying/making one for our sea rey. As you are not using yours, it's obvious it did not work well for you ? Could you give us some feedback as to problems encountered ? Over heating ?

    Frank, thank for the offer, and appreciate you feed back. I hear you, it seem not worth the effort. Thanks for sharing that info. I'l stick with the ugly exposed engine.

    Frank, Thanks for the feedback. Looks like we may need to rethink this. In any case, wheels and L/R Tank are more important at this early stage of Sea Rey ownership. Thanks again.
