Description: June 22nd dawned bright and enticing. Checked the fcst and both the aviation and marine folks called for ' light sw @ 5 to 10, increasing to 20 to 25 in the early afternoon.' Called Dave King and we agreed to meet at Picton Airport as he had promised to take some tow plane pilots from the cadet glider program for flights in his Storch.
He took one and I took another and off we went on a tour of the (nude) beach area. looking west, saw the windstreaks and white caps forming on big Lake Ontario so hi tailed it back to the airport. W/V was 230/15 gusting to 20. R/w 23 was in use by the gliders and equipment so we landed on R/W 17.
I dropped my guy off and advised 'Glider Control ' that I would be using the hangar line for departure as it was into wind. Worked out well and Dave climbed onto a truck to get these pics.
