Description:
Yes, Florida has water. Yes, Alaska has water. But the Mid-Atlantic area has some, too. Yesterday I flew one SeaRey hour northwest to MD01, Wingfield SPB (in the middle of R-4005, which Patuxant R NAS said was inactive below 3000 feet' yesterday) for a splash-in of the Maryland/Virginia/Delaware Seaplane Pilots association.
MD01 has a one-way 1200' turf runway (11/29)--the light green strip extending from the trees, parallel to the road--and of course water runways in St. Jerome Creek. The main Chesapeake Bay is about a mile to the right.
We're looking to the northeast here. The hangar (the white building beside the runway) contained a C-185.
