Description: I have been given the opportunity to think about what this war means to me for the last months. As I depart I finally have clarity.

The heat of another conflict burns a tattoo that will remain...

We're glad to go back to our families, but wish so much for this country to succeed.
18 year old Privates and 40 year old Captains will never forget what price people are willing to pay to simply vote.
Despite the threats and gruesome violence and tyrannical history of this country,
The majority of people here quickly rejected thousands of years of history, risking their lives doing so, and DID VOTE when given the chance.
All the rest is noise.
The fact that the world wasn't shaken to it's core by this event astounds me.
Not the war, but proof, once again, of the desire of humans to choose their own path.
Isn't that the ultimate freedom?
THANK GOD I'M FREE
May all human kind find freedom.

Could an Admin move it to the Splash site please?
I've been cut off from access from the myfamily.com sites because it has 'chat' but since this is a private site, the Gov firewall doesn't block it.
Looking forward to chatting again with you in a couple of weeks. I'll have very limited internet contact until I'm home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bruce Bennett - Aug 27, 2005 Edit | Delete | Viewers | Reply to this item Ken, that is an unbelievable sunset! God Bless You and All the Other Soldiers Who so Bravely Risk Their Lives every day so we can all be FREE. Your Efforts are Really Appreciated. I wish the media over here would convey the Truth about the Great Things our Troops are Accomplishing, How Important it is to the rest of the world, and how Truly Appreciative the Iraqis are for Your Help and Courage!!! Thank You!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ken, I'm glad you're getting out of there in one whole piece. And I'm also glad that you aren't the sort of guy to pay much attention to those (on either side of the issue) who are sitting on their pasty asses in the Z.I., spouting platitudes, slogans, and oversimplifications. Nothing is ever as simple as simple people think it is.
