Description:
The word got out about our flight time donation for charity and I was, once again, approached by a local Community Foundation to donate an hours flight. This time, a local judge bid $275.00 for the SeaRey flight. When I contacted the judge to set up the flight, he emphasised that he hadn't bid on the float plane ( Magnum) as he had sat on a couple of inquests and considered a hull safer than floats.'Oh God' I thought....should I tell him about the 'A' hull? Picked a fairly decent day and we flew for 1:20 around his part of the country. As Peter had done a bit of flying himself 20 years ago, I let him do most of the flying. This picture was taken as we approached a local penitentiary. ' Better turn right..they don't like us flying over them.' That's OK he said..' I know the warden.' 'Turn Right now...I don't'
Dave K, Bill Hone and I raised just under $ 1000.00 for that charity. Sure a nice way to have fun...meet some interesting folks, and help the community. Oh Yeah....the wind came up and the curving Cove approach/ sailboat transition did not impress the judge. He only flinched a tad as we rolled out and landed next to the windsock. He too will get a free flight when the colours change.

Good show, Dave. Make sure you remind the judge about his free flight next time you get a speeding ticket, eh?
