I tried this for the first time but did't get the description part right. The door gun may be a hint but this beautiful lake is in Northern Iraq but there are no seaplanes or boaters. I am a little more than half way through my year-long tour here and have flown over 500 combat hours to places like this. Fortunately I get occassional access to the internet so I can keep up with the news and photos here and on STS and dream about working on my kit when I return. I wanted to thank all of you folks for the great pictures and news. You are definitely helping the morale of at leas one soldier.

Thanks
Chuck Hosack

This looks like the perfect place for a SeaRey with a Kevlar hull, Chuck. What you are doing makes it possible for us to splash our lakes without body armor. Thank you for keeping our morale as high as a turbocharged SeaRey can fly.

Thanks Chuck, I hope your work will help me to be able to go there from Norway with my SeaRey once it's completed. Who knows? Just a short while ago we couldn't fly to the eastern block or former Yugoslavia, and now they are inviting tourists!
Real nice !! The news tonight about Iraq reaffirmed what I already knew ( and what we should all be helping others to realize ) that because of you and others like you of our military, we can drive by parked cars and think only of them as 'parked cars' rather than possible IED's. Thank you.

Quite a photo, Chuck! It shows a lot of what's right--and wrong--with the world. Take care!
