Description: In the olden days, Florida must have been a wild place. Some of us citified folks will tell you it is uninhabitable without air conditioning. This old house has fallen into a state of dignified uninhabitatedness.

Is it for sale? I know someone who would just love to air condition it.

The house? Or the whole island it sits on?

Island! Dan, yer killin me! GoogleEarth doesn't show any islands in Lake Marian, but does in Lake Kissimmee. Ah, well wherever it is in Florida, I probably can't afford it. Tsk.

Check it out, Don. It's called Bannon Island and it is on the west side of the lake (according to Google Earth, it is at 28*04'56.21'N 81*31'18.00' W). It's a good sized island with an orange grove. Land side lots on the lake sell for around $175,000. I imagine you could add a couple of zeros to that number for the house and the island it sits on. Why don't we get some SeaRey lovers together, form a Limited Liability Partnership, and develop a splash in community on it? I think we could get some design plans from the Florida Buy Now folks.

Can't spot it--must be looking at the wrong lake. $175,000 would be cheap for waterfront lots around RichMond.

Okay, so I'll post the Google Picture. If the lake is a boot the island is about to be dropped kicked to Texas. You can get a better aerial photo from www.terraserver.com but you still won't see the snakes and ticks Frank sees. Attachments:

Oh, THAT Lake Marian. I was looking at another Lake Marian near Kenansville--at least, that's what MapQuest called it.
