Description:
After thinking I was hearing an engine miss, I made a precautionary landing to check out the cause. I opted to land on the sand rather than the ocean, after seeing car tracks that indicated hard packed sand.

Isn't it fortunate that carby ice in the SeaRey seems to occur mostly on beautiful days over great landing spots!

Nice picture, too, Rick. Who was the photographer? Ann, Zach and I were visiting Herlong on Saturday and tried to raise you on Gator frequency. Maybe you were lounging on the beach?

Yeah, I've never had carb ice problems before, but I guess the humidity over the ocean?? I'm sorry I missed you Saturday. I was probably eating lunch at St. Simon's Island (SSI). Lovely place, and they have a nice crew car. I think Don Maxwell stops there on his occasional jaunts to Florida. TT took the picture. I'm taking a lot of pics at neat places, so I can get my wife to fly with me. I told her about the crab cakes in St. Simon's, and I almost have her ready to fly!! <br /><br /> I have the muffler sitting out, so next time you get up that way, just act like you know what you're doing and get it from my hangar. It's in a box on the front bench. BTW, I could ship it UPS! Let me know.
