Seaplane Ramp up close

Description: There's a large concrete pad at the top of the ramp. This is a telephoto shot; the hangar is nearly half a mile beyond the SeaRey. There was a lock on the gate--but the hasp was open, so we slipped though and headed for the hangar. We had a three o'clock appointment for a tour. (Tours every Wednesday. Call ahead.)

Those two things on top of the hangar are control towers. To reach them, the controllers had to climb open steps that curve up inside the roof, a tough way to go to work.
