Description:
This is the federal prison near Hopewell, VA., but there's a lot of aviation stuff here, too. In the upper left is an airstrip (looks like a T on its side) that has never been completed--apparently somebody appropriated funds for it and then misappropriated them for some other purpose.
The highway is I-295, and we're looking south.
There's also a seaplane base, 2G6, in the Appomattox River, just east of the power lines in the lower right corner. The guy sold his Cessna 172 on straight floats a few years ago because he he got tired of not finding places to gas it up. Shoulda got a SeaRey.
