Description: This is my hangar interior, complete with a full bath (shower, toilet, lavatory, hot water), kitchen with stove and fridge. The hangar is insulated and heated. Size is 44' X 39' and has a motorized bi-fold door. Unfortunately, all of the neat decorations don't go with it.

Larry, you have set the standard for airplane hangers!!

That's a great looking hangar, Larry. Can't you make the former owner an offer so that he doesn't have to move all of his old junk (and you don't have to decorate!)? It will be difficult to replicate that classic motiff.

Boy, I wish I could, but he is a real flying buff and has collected memorobelia for many years. Currently he is a US Air pilot flying international. He told me that he started flying at age 15 and had 2000 hrs before going into the military where he flew A-4's. He has owned all of the aircraft in the pictures on the left, many of them warbirds. He said he has no other hobby other than flying and airplanes. He is selling the hanger because he has moved to a fly-in community at Mooresville, NC and is building a ;larger hangar.

Hi Larry, that's a real nice hanger!! A USAIR pilot eh! I wonder if he was original Allegheny then USAIR or Piedmont?? Larry you seem to gravitate to the USAIR pilots, remember Ray from your old hanger at Dunn's Airport?? I remember flying with Ray and he was a very classy pilot. Tell Marilyn and 'Trigger' we said hello. Judy

Hi Judy, his name is Danny Linkous and he appears to be in his 50's. He came from Piedmont. Does that ring a bell?

Hi Larry, No, I really don't know any of the Piedmont people. I was Allegheny, then changed to USAIR....now USAIRWAYS!!! So much has happened to our Airline. We made a lot of money when we were USAIR, then our President Colodny retired and then the Airline went through many different hands, and all of them dragging us down, and they filled their pockets!! Then 9-11 happened and all the Airlines just about drowned.

Now, since hearing the news yesterday about USAIR wanting to merge with Delta....another big change is on the way. If this merger goes through, and I feel that it has a good chance of going through, I think it would be a very good thing; except I hate changing the name. I knew one of these times in all the changes that happened throughout the years, that one day we would completely change the name, and that day might soon be here!!

Judy

Mooresville, NC? It's a small world. That is where I live but on the water, not at Lake Norman Airpark (14A). What is his name, Larry. We'll invite him to join the local EAA chapter here.

Dennis, is that the fly-in community there? He did not tell me the name of his community. His name is Danny Linkous and he is an interesting guy and has owned a lot of different planes.

I am guessing the fly in community might be 'Long Island Airpark'. I took OliverII to a Seaplane fly in there a few years ago. Nice place.

Here is a link Attachments:

There are two fly in communities on Lake Norman. One is Lake Norman Airpark (14A) which is a private paved airpark with some really nice homes and hangers there. Has an FBO, repair shop, and gas. Lake Norman Airpark is in Mooresville, NC. Here is the link to 14A http://www.lakenormanairpark.org/ The other is Long Island which is a really nice grass strip with homes and hangers being built there. Nice folks but no services. There is a ramp to taxi your plane out of the water. I'm not sure what town that one is near, but it is several miles north of Mooresville and on the other side of the lake. A typical approach to each is right over the water - really a neat way to land.
